CM Punjab Electric Bike Scheme 2026 – Apply Online
If you’re a student, teacher, or government employee in Punjab spending thousands of rupees every month on rickshaw or van fares, this update is for you. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has relaunched a scheme in 2026 that could cut your monthly transport cost dramatically the CM Punjab Electric Bike Scheme 2026. In this article, we’re covering everything you need to know before applying, explained in plain and simple terms.
As always, ApplyKrdo brings you only verified and updated information, so you don’t waste your CNIC data on the wrong website.

What Exactly Is This Scheme?
The scheme is run in partnership with the Bank of Punjab (BOP), aimed at providing students, government school teachers, and BPS 1–16 employees with interest-free (0% markup) electric and petrol bikes. The government contributes up to PKR 20,000 toward your down payment and covers the entire bank markup itself meaning the amount you pay from your own pocket is just the actual price of the bike, no interest attached.
The scheme carries a subsidy of Rs. 2.6 billion and is distributing over 20,000 bikes, using PITB’s computerized e-balloting system so selection stays free of favoritism or political influence.

Documents You’ll Need
Keep these documents ready before applying, or your application risks being rejected:
- CNIC (clear front-back scan) — B-Form for applicants under 18
- Student ID card or service certificate (latest)
- Enrollment certificate (from an HEC-recognized institute)
- Punjab domicile
- Driving license or learner’s permit
- 2 passport-size photos (white background)
- Bank account details (a BOP account speeds up processing)
- Guarantor/co-borrower’s CNIC, income proof, and a clean ECIB credit report
Important: If your guarantor’s credit history isn’t clean, your application gets rejected. Confirm with your guarantor beforehand that they have no defaulted loans.
How to Apply Online: Step-by-Step
- Go to the correct portal bikes.punjab.gov.pk for students and ptf.punjab.gov.pk for teachers. Any third-party website asking for your CNIC or money is a scam.
- Create an account using your CNIC and mobile number, and verify with an OTP
- Fill in the application form — institute name, enrollment number, bike preference, etc.
- Upload your documents — scans must be clear, since blurry uploads are the most common reason for rejection
- Bank of Punjab will verify your details (no action needed from you at this stage)
- PITB’s computerized e-balloting takes place — results are sent via SMS and email
- Once selected, collect your bike from an authorized dealer — insurance is included from day one

Installment Plan – How Much Will You Pay?
| Bike Type | Monthly Installment | Duration | Down Payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electric Bike (Student) | PKR 2,000 – 3,000 | 24 months | ~PKR 25,000 |
| Petrol Bike (Student) | PKR 3,000 – 4,000 | 24 months | 30% of price |
| Teacher E-Bike | PKR 3,600 – 4,200 | 24-36 months | 30-40% subsidy |
Interest is 0% — the government covers the full markup itself. Registration cost isn’t included in this plan and must be paid separately once you receive the bike.
Electric or Petrol – Which One Should You Choose?
If your daily commute within the city is under 25 km and you can charge the bike at home, an electric bike offers better value — monthly charging costs come to just PKR 30–50. But if you travel longer routes or live in a rural area where electricity supply is unreliable, a petrol bike is the more practical choice.
Why Do Applications Get Rejected?
The most common reasons are:
- Blurry or incomplete documents
- Guarantor’s poor credit history (ECIB report)
- Selecting the wrong institute
- Not having a driving license
- Applying through a fake, non-official website
- Already owning a registered vehicle
CM Punjab Scheme vs PM PAVE Scheme – What’s the Difference?
Many people confuse these two schemes, but they aren’t the same. The CM Punjab Scheme is exclusive to Punjab province (bikes.punjab.gov.pk), while the PM PAVE Scheme covers all of Pakistan, including AJK and GB (pave.gov.pk). If you’re eligible for both, you can apply to both — they’re separate applications and don’t disqualify each other.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the last date to apply?
Each phase has its own deadline, announced on the official portal. We post the latest updates immediately here on ApplyKrdo, so bookmark this page.
Can VU or AIOU students apply?
In the previous phase, regular on-campus enrollment was required, so virtual university students weren’t eligible. Check the official portal for updates on the new phase.

Both can apply, but even if both get selected, only one sibling will receive a bike.
When will the portal open for government employees?
The employee category has already been announced; the exact portal and dates will be released soon.
